House Bill 98 is an attempt to further criminalize individuals seeking legal healthcare such as an abortion, outside of the state. The intention is to amend the human trafficking statutes for any individual recruiting, harboring or transporting a minor in procuring an out-of-state abortion. Further, the bill provides that the Idaho Attorney General has the authority to prosecute a person for violations of the ban if the prosecuting attorney otherwise authorized refuses to do so.
Abortion is still legal and safe. Preventing individuals, including minors, from accessing abortion is dangerous and violates their constitutional rights.
