H.B 137 would strike the provision in Idaho code to remove voter affidavit in lieu of personal identification.
Currently in Idaho, if a voter that lacks or may have simply forgotten their identification card, they may sign (under perjury of law), a Personal Identification Affidavit form. The affidavit ensures that all Idahoans can exercise their right to vote. The complete removal of this option will be determinantal to all communities that experience barriers at the polls. Simply put, this legislation poses serious threats to the rights of all citizens to vote.
