2016 - Method Abortion Ban

Senate Bill 1386 attempts to restrict a very common abortion procedure that occurs in the second trimester , despite court’s in Oklahoma and Kansas striking down similar laws and deeming them unconstitutional. This bill, if passed, would drastically curtail women in Idaho access to safe and legal abortion care – a clear violation of a woman’s constitutional right to choose. Thanks to the lobbying efforts of the ACLU of Idaho, and our partners at Planned Parenthood, this bill was not given a public hearing and did not move forward this session.
