Internships
The ACLU of Idaho seeks highly motivated students for internship positions as well as volunteer opportunities throughout the year for work involving a wide range of civil liberties and civil rights issues.
The ACLU of Idaho welcomes applications for
either of two internship positions:
Legal Intern – Primarily, this position
involves reading, analyzing and responding to letters of complaint
from Idahoans. The intern will learn about legal issues pertaining
to constitutional freedoms, the kinds of complaints that raise
constitutional issues, how these complaints are addressed, and
sources of assistance for persons with other kinds of complaints.
The intern will expand her/his knowledge of constitutional law and
receive assistance with her/his writing skills. Preferred time
commitment: approximately 10 hrs./week. Apply to:

Legislative Intern – Winter semester
only. This position involves working with the ACLU of Idaho
Legislative Counsel, primarily at the Idaho Statehouse, taking notes
and reporting on committee hearings and legislative debate,
conducting legislative research (training will be provided),
drafting and reviewing documents regarding proposed legislation, and
otherwise generally assisting the ACLU of Idaho in protecting the
individual freedoms protected by our Bill of Rights and other
constitutional amendments. Preferred time commitment: 10+
