Ten Commandments
– In the November 2006 election, a voter initiative made its way to
the ballot that would require the City of Boise to place a Ten
Commandments monument in a public city park. We organized an
opposition to this initiative and it failed in the November
election. Our campaign included public speaking appearances and the
publication of our op-ed piece in the Idaho Statesman.
Also, in 2004 we successfully opposed legislation that would have
placed a Ten Commandments monument in the Statehouse.
National Day of Prayer
– In 2005 we provided assistance to the Idaho Athiests when they
were denied use of the Statehouse steps despite the fact that they
had properly reserved them under the Governor’s “first come, first
serve” policy. The Governor decided that the National Day of Prayer
should take priority, even though the request was received after the
Athiests’ request. |
