Legislative Program
The ACLU of Idaho has maintained a full-time presence in the
Idaho legislature since 1990. The ACLU of Idaho works with Idaho
legislators and voters to promote and defend civil liberties.
Examples of our work include:
- Working with the lesbian, gay, and
bi-sexual communities to defeat anti-gay initiatives; and
preparing court challenges to anti-gay initiative and other
discriminatory measures.
- Protecting reproductive freedom by
blocking legislation and initiatives limiting choice.
- Fighting amendments authorizing
government sponsored school prayer and criminalizing the burning
of one's own American Flag.
JOIN OUR IDAHO ACTION NETWORK
We will send you periodic (you won't be bombarded, we promise)
e-mail updates on our priority issues and action bulletins that you
can use to make a difference as an advocate for freedom, from
writing your legislator to joining a protest. Join the list by
sending an e-mail with your name, address and e-mail address to
admin@acluidaho.org.
We need your mailing address to determine which legislative
districts you live in. If you do not provide that information, we
cannot send you legislator-specific e-mail alerts.
