U.S. v. Sami Al-Hussayen – Assistance was provided to counsel defending against prosecution for terrorism charges of a University of Idaho graduate student.  The ACLU’s requests for amicus curiae status, to address First Amendment issues in the case, were twice denied by the Judge Edward Lodge. The  defendant was subsequently acquitted of all terrorism charges.  National ACLU attorneys Ann Beeson and Jamal Jaffer authored the ACLU amicus brief.
