Death Penalty
"(Capital punishment is) a
privilege of the poor."
- Clinton Duffy, former warden, San Quentin
Prison
Capital punishment, the ultimate denial of civil liberties, is a
costly, irreversible and barbaric practice, the epitome of cruel and
unusual punishment. It does not deter crime, and the way it is
implemented is grotesquely unfair.
The ACLU of Idaho works in coalition with other organizations to
seek reform, or better yet, abolition of the death penalty.
